***This Brooch is made to order and could take about 1 to 2 weeks to ship***

Queen Catherine Parr is known by the majority of people as the "lucky" wife of King Henry VIII of Renaissance/Medieval England, the one who survived to become his widow. However, to those who study Tudor history, was she so much more. Intelligent, witty, religious, and able to play the game that was life at the Tudor court. This Brooch is a historical replica of one worn by Queen Catherine Parr in one of the few portraits that scholars are fairly certain is in fact Catherine.

This brooch was made using a large, sturdy raw brass filigree as a base. Upon the base are several 15x7mm black, faceted glass navette stones each in a brass setting. The dominate stone of the brooch is a 25x18mm deep ruby red glass cabochon in a antique gold lace filigree setting. Above the large cabochon is a matching 18x13mm ruby red glass cabochon in a brass crown edge setting. Finally, there are 3 elongated white glass tear drop pearls. Please reference the second to last photo to see where the bar pin is located.

My daughter was very please with the look, and the quality of this reproduction of a period piece of jewelry. Overall, very nicely done, and quite pretty.
