This brooch/pendant is a replica of one worn in portrait by Prince Arthur. Designed to be worn as either a brooch or a pendant so that either a Tudor Prince or Princess would be able to wear this Tudor treasure.
I've made this piece using a sturdy, large (46mm) filigree. In the center is an ornate scroll setting adorned with an 18x25mm glass cabochon which I have hand painted black with a slight shimmery gold undertone. 3 large cream-colored teardrop pearls add the finishing touch to this lovely piece.
Few people realize that Henry VIII, the infamous king of England, wasn't meant to be king. In fact, Henry had an older brother, Arthur, Prince of Wales, who was heir to the throne. Sadly, shortly after Arthur's marriage to Catherine of Aragon (who would later become Henry's first wife) Arthur passed away. This paved the way for Henry to become king.

I ordered two beautiful pieces! I love that the brooch can be worn as a pin or as a pendant. The pearls on both are so perfectly shiny and dangle so nicely. The perfect accessories for my masquerade look. I’m absolutely in love with this shop and will definitely be purchasing again!
